The origin here is embarrassingly personal. I've been reading Chinese web novels for years (xianxia, cultivation stuff, the usual) and the bottleneck is always the fan translators. Some novels translate at five chapters a week. Some stop entirely at chapter 400. Some get licensed and pulled, leaving the fan translation unfinished forever.
I kept trying machine translation as a stopgap and kept hitting the same wall: character names changed every chapter, sect terms were nonsense, cultivation realms got 'translated' into English words that meant nothing. Whatever I wanted, Google Translate wasn't it.
So I built it. You upload a glossary of the names and terms that matter. Webnovels AI locks them in place across the whole book. Everything else is just normal LLM translation, but without the names-drift problem that makes fan translation bearable and machine translation unreadable.
"The whole product exists because I couldn't finish a novel I wanted to read."
